EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Participates in Public Works snow and ice removal operations and emergency response, including plowing Town roads and performing incidental manual labor. Operates Town-supplied non-CDL plow trucks equipped with plows and salt spreaders. Required to work beyond normal business hours for scheduled and unscheduled storm events and must respond within one hour unless excused by a supervisor. Performs snow shoveling and assists with plow installation as needed.

Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and perform other related duties as assigned by a supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Up to and including one year of related work experience or equivalent entry-level knowledge of trades or equipment operation. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and plow snow. Required to attend trainings and obtain certifications as necessary to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

Must participate in the Town’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Criminal Offender Record Inquiry and a pre-employment physical examination, including drug screening.

COMPENSATION:$32.43 per hour, non-union, part-time, on-call position, non-exempt, and not benefit eligible. Work hours vary and are based on snow and ice events, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
