Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) (Registered Nurse/RN) – Life Care Center of Wilbraham, Wilbraham, MA

Full‑time, Day shift.
Live the Mission. The RN – Assistant Director of Nursing assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Services department to ensure the highest degree of quality patient care in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care Standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements- ASN or BSN from an accredited college or university
- Currently licensed/registered in applicable state; must maintain an active RN license in good standing throughout employment
- Two (2) years of geriatric nursing experience (preferred)
- CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation, and must remain current
Job Requirements
Maintains liaison with patients, families, and support departments to adequately plan for patient needs; possesses expert knowledge in the field of practice; makes independent decisions when circumstances warrant; knowledgeable of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post‑acute care; implements and interprets programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department; performs proficiently in all competency areas including nursing care, supervisory responsibilities, infection control, patient rights, safety, and sanitation;
maintains professional working relationships with all associates and vendors; maintains confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information; follows company policies including harassment and compliance procedures; displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care code of conduct and completes mandatory trainings.
- Assist the DON in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Nursing Services department
- Interview, select, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise nursing staff
- Assist with overseeing care provided by nursing staff
- Oversee infection control responsibilities
- Assume the duties of the DON in their absence
- Provide direct nursing care as necessary and perform functions of a staff nurse as required
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients
- Assist in the evacuation of patients
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance; concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during working hours; read, write, speak, and understand English
