Position: Youth Justice Worker (High Risk)

Overview

This specialist team works with children and young people with complex needs, helping them achieve positive, lasting change and lead lives free from offending. You’ll collaborate with passionate professionals in a high‑quality service committed to restorative justice and asset‑based approaches that empower families and communities.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted interventions to children and families to reduce reoffending.
  • Carry out high‑quality assessments, court reports, case management, and documentation in line with national and local standards.
  • Design and deliver personalised support packages for Out of Court Resolutions, Referral Orders, and other relevant pathways in collaboration with the Adolescent Safeguarding team (REACH) and partner agencies.
  • Apply restorative justice principles ensuring victims’ needs are central and use community assets to support sustainable positive change.
  • Advocate for children in court and professional meetings, develop intervention plans, and collaborate across teams and agencies.
Qualifications
  • Qualified social worker, probation officer, or Youth Justice professional, or a related background.
  • Proven track record of working with children and young people, building strong relationships with families and colleagues.
  • Understanding of the youth justice system, trauma‑informed practice, and contextual safeguarding.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload, develop intervention plans, write court reports, and collaborate effectively with partner agencies.
  • Driving licence or ability to travel effectively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings to meet the needs of children and families.
