WWL are looking for a highly motivated Reporting Radiographer to join the Reporting Team to help provide a high-quality radiographic reporting service. The advertised role provides an exciting opportunity for a Radiographer to expand their knowledge and skills, whilst delivering a flexible and efficient patient focused service. As a Trust, we are at the forefront of technology and currently use Harrison AI (formally Annalise) for chest x‑rays, which offers an exciting opportunity to engage with AI developments.
The working pattern will be 28.5 hours per week across three days, Monday to Friday. The specific working arrangements can be discussed further, and a bespoke set up and job plan agreed that matches service requirements.

Main duties of the jobThe main duties of this role include independently interpreting radiographic images and producing accurate, high-quality formal reports within a defined scope of practice. The post holder will use advanced image interpretation skills, apply analytical judgement to complex findings, and ensure all reports support safe and effective patient management. The post holder will be expected to provide specialist advice to clinicians, support the development of colleagues and trainees, deliver teaching sessions, and contribute to maintaining high standards across the reporting service.
Jobresponsibilities
- To support the reporting service in line with the individual’s agreed scope of practice.
- To support, monitor and quality‑assure high standards of general radiographic practice within the directorate. An element of clinical work may be required to provide support and guidance to junior staff.
- To support the continually evolving reporting service.
- To keep up to date with Trust information and Departmental policies.
- To always safeguard confidentiality of information relating to patients and staff.
- To be able to use PACS reporting workstations and its full remit of software to obtain optimal information.
- Participate in monthly peer review audit to ensure best practice is maintained.
- Report audit findings at monthly Radiology Events and Learning Meetings (REALMs).
- Attain concentration to assess and diagnose radiographic images. The resultant report will affect patient management and forms a legal part of the patient record.
- To plan, manage and prioritise the reporting schedule to optimise efficiency and meet reporting demands.
- To ensure there is a responsive, collaborative, safe radiographic reporting service in line with Trust values, Trust‑agreed turnaround times and national performance expectations.
- To be capable of working independently, confidently and without supervision.
- To be able to work within an agreed protocol.
- To provide cover for colleagues as directed by the line manager.
- To assist and offer advice to clinicians, wards and departments, on the assessment of images prior to the report being issued.
- Report writing – able to write clear and concise reports.
- To check and verify reports produced by radiology registrars and trainee reporting radiographers.
- To liaise and support both qualified radiographers and students in their professional development.
- To ensure the responsible use of all radiology equipment and resources.
- To perform in‑house training sessions for students, qualified radiographers, and radiology registrars.
- Perform reporting sessions with other healthcare professionals involved in image interpretation.
- Provide teaching and support to trainee reporting radiographers, radiology registrars, qualified radiographers, students, and other healthcare professionals involved in image interpretation.
