Are you a Mechanical Engineer looking for training on diesel engines while working for a global pump hire company that offers a varied role split between workshop and field-based work, alongside clear progression opportunities?

This specialist pumping solutions provider supplies high-performance pump hire equipment and engineered fluid handling systems to the construction, mining, utilities, and industrial sectors. They support critical operations such as dewatering, wastewater management, and flood control with energy-efficient, heavy-duty pumping solutions trusted by contractors, infrastructure providers, and environmental operators across the UK.

In this role, you will split your time between the depot workshop and field-based work across the North West. Within the workshop, you will assist with preparing, inspecting, servicing and repairing pumping equipment ready for hire. In the field, you will support installation, servicing and basic maintenance of pump systems at customer sites. Full training will be provided on diesel engines and specialist pump equipment as you develop your skills.

This role would suit a Mechanical Engineer or Fitter looking to develop their skills with full training on diesel engines and pumping equipment while working in a varied role that offers overtime and long-term progression.

The Role:

Service, maintain and repair pumping equipment
50/50 split between workshop-based work and field support
Prepare, inspect and test pump hire equipment at the depot
Assist with installation and maintenance on customer sites
Diagnose basic mechanical faults and carry out repairs
On call rota 1 in 3 weeks
North West patch, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

The Person :

Mechanical engineering or fitting background
Looking to train and develop skills on diesel engines
Able to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs
Full UK driving licence
Commutable to Wigan
