CK Group are recruiting for a Research and Development Laboratory Technician, to join a global materials manufacturing company, based near Wigan, on a full time, permanent basis.
The Company:
Our client is a global leader in manufacturing glass for the architectural, automotive and technical sectors. They strive to be the best innovator of high-performance glass and glazing solutions. They now have an exciting opportunity for an R&D Laboratory Technician to join their Thin Film Resource Group within the R&D Function and are offering a salary ranging up to £32,000 depending on experience.
Location:
The R&D Laboratory Technician position will be based at the company's site near Wigan, easily commutable by road from Merseyside including Liverpool, Ormskirk, Skelmersdale and Manchester. Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is required, due to the company's location.
R&D Laboratory Technician Role:
Your main duties will be:
Operating and maintaining lab coating equipment.
Depositing thin films on glass and preparing substrates.
Investigating new coatings applied through Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD).
Conducting durability tests and preparing samples.
Measuring physical properties of coated glass.
Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
Educated to BTEC/HNC/apprenticeship level - these are strongly preferred over a degree-level education for this role.
Experience working in a chemical laboratory - essential.
Driving licence and access to car - essential.
