We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic SEND Primary Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and inclusive school community. This is a full-time role, working in partnership with class teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the primary age range.

The successful candidate will play an important role in enabling pupils to access the curriculum, develop independence, and reach their full potential within a supportive and structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Adapt and differentiate learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), contributing to target setting and progress reviews.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and provide emotional regulation support.
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive self-esteem.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals.
  • Help maintain a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level
    3).
  • Experience supporting primary-aged children with SEND.
  • Knowledge of a range of SEND needs, such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, proactive approach.
  • The ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and colleagues.

If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with SEND and would like to join a dedicated and supportive team, we would be delighted to hear from you.
