Head of PE (Teacher of Girls PE).

Location:

Hawkley Hall High School, Carr Lane, Wigan, WN3 5NY
. Salary: MPS / UPS + UPS 2C.

Contract:

Full time, permanent.

Start date:

April 2026 (or sooner, if available). Closing date: 6 February 2026, 12:00pm.

You will:

• Run the PE Faculty
• Teach PE up to KS4
• Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum
• Monitor and support student progress and development
• Contribute to raising standards of attainment
• Participate in curriculum development and departmental planning
• Engage in pastoral responsibilities as a form tutor

Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Ability to teach PE up to KS4
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for PE
• Excellent classroom management and teaching skills
• Commitment to professional development and teamwork

Desirable:

• Ability to teach an additional subject
• Previous experience as a middle leader

• Supportive and forward-thinking leadership
• Access to high-quality CPD, including NPQs
• Opportunities for career progression within The Rowan Learning Trust
• A caring and inclusive school environment
