Headteacher – New Specialist SEND School (SEMH & ASC)

This is a rare opportunity to lead the development and opening of a brand-new, all-through specialist school, supporting pupils aged 5–19 with SEMH, ASC and associated needs. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the school’s vision, culture and curriculum from inception.

The Role

Lead the strategic development and opening of a new specialist SEND school

Recruit, inspire and manage a high-quality, values-driven staff team

Design and embed an inclusive, therapeutic and ambitious curriculum

Build strong partnerships with local authorities and key stakeholders

Ensure compliance with Independent School Standards

Drive continuous school improvement towards outstanding outcomes

About You

Proven experience as a Headteacher or senior leader in a SEND setting

Strong understanding of SEMH, ASC and trauma-informed approaches

Inspirational, confident leader with excellent communication skills

Person-centred, proactive and values-led in your approach

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
