Progress Tutor

Start date:

As soon as possible

Hours per week: 36.25, Full time

Working pattern: 08:30 – 16:30, Monday to Friday

Permanent:
Term Time Only plus one week. 39 weeks, 38 of which coincide with the academic year.

Salary: SP 11 to 15 of the Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Pay Spine (currently £28,634–£32,199 pro rata, per annum. Actual salary £24,532 – £27,586 per annum).

Overview

St John Rigby College offers a supportive environment to students aged 16‑18. We recently retained an “outstanding” Ofsted judgement.

Responsibilities
  • Support and monitor students individually and in groups, delivering a tutorial programme to help focus on learning and study skills.
  • Manage a caseload, tracking attendance, achievement and retention.
  • Assist students in exceeding target grades and track academic progress.
  • Implement safeguarding measures and manage concerns successfully.
  • Liaise with parents and carers to establish positive relationships.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young people.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience or aptitude for monitoring student progress and safeguarding.
