Specialist SEND Tutors – Wigan

About the Role – SEND Tutoring Job in Wigan

As a Specialist SEND Tutor
, you will work with learners aged Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering 1:1 or small‑group tuition through a bespoke curriculum designed around each child’s needs, interests, and learning style.

Our students are awaiting specialist provision, and tutors play a vital role in:

  • Re‑engaging learners with education
  • Building confidence and emotional regulation
  • Supporting core academic skills (English, Maths, and wider curriculum areas)
  • Preparing students for reintegration into education where appropriate

Every learner is different, and we carefully match tutors to students based on experience, strengths, and interests

What We’re Looking For

Experience working with SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, anxiety, or behaviour needs is highly desirable, but we also value the right personal qualities just as much.

We are looking for tutors who demonstrate:

  • Resilience, patience, and emotional intelligence

  • Empathy and strong relationship‑building skills
