Our client is a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a wide range of infrastructure, groundworks, and regeneration projects. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are seeking an Estimator to join their pre-construction team and support the successful tendering of civils projects.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering projects, working closely with the commercial, operational, and supply chain teams. You will play a key role in securing new work and contributing to the company's ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civils projects

Reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract documents

Taking off quantities and preparing bills of quantities where required

Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations

Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options

Supporting bid reviews and tender meetings

Maintaining up-to-date cost data and benchmarking information

Working collaboratively with project teams to develop competitive solutions

About You

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (desirable)

Proven experience in an Estimator role within civil engineering or groundworks

Strong understanding of civils construction methods and materials

Commercially aware with strong analytical skills

Confident using estimating software and Microsoft Excel

Well organised with the ability to work to tight deadlines

Strong communication and teamwork skills
