Procurement Coordinator – Wigan (Hybrid)

About the RoleAs a Procurement Coordinator, you will oversee the end‑to‑end purchasing process, ensuring timely and cost‑effective acquisition of goods and services. Your responsibilities extend beyond administrative support to include managing supplier relationships, leading data‑driven analysis for cost savings, and facilitating seamless cross‑departmental workflow between operations and finance.
Responsibilities- Order Management – Create, verify, and authorise purchase orders (POs) and requisitions while ensuring contractual alignment with company policy.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) – Act as the primary contact for vendors, maintain an up‑to‑date supplier database, track performance KPIs, and manage compliance.
- Communication – Bridge the gap between internal stakeholders and external partners, proactively identifying supply chain risks and leading resolution of delivery or quality discrepancies.
- Data Analysis & Reporting – Conduct market research and price analysis, prepare monthly procurement reports, analyse spending patterns, and provide actionable insights to improve margins.
- Financial Oversight – Work closely with Finance to reconcile invoices against delivery notes and resolve pricing variances.
- Process Optimisation – Maintain and streamline procurement workflows and administration.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to build collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- High accountability and exceptional organisational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Problem‑solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and eliminating supply‑chain bottlenecks.
- Team player who can work independently while contributing to cross‑functional teams.
- Previous experience in procurement or supply‑chain roles.
- Familiarity with ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
- Desirable:
Progress towards professional certification such as CIPS or equivalent.
