Design & Planning Coordinator (Graduate / Junior – up to 3 yrs exp)
£28,000 – £35,000 - depending on experience

I’m working with a well‑established North West main contractor who are looking to strengthen their design function, while also bringing in planning support, through the appointment of a Junior Design & Planning Coordinator.

This is a dual‑role position, supporting the design process while also assisting with planning‑related duties. The role would suit a built‑environment graduate or someone with 1–4 years’ experience in a design‑based role who is comfortable working across both areas.

This is not a hands‑on designer role, but you must be design‑aware and comfortable working with drawings, consultants and the wider design process.

The role

Supporting the coordination of the design process across pre‑construction and delivery
Working alongside architects, engineers and other consultants
Tracking design information, revisions and outstanding actions
Assisting with design development and design reviews
Supporting planning submissions, planning conditions and planning‑related design information
Acting as the link between design, planning and construction teams
Helping ensure projects are properly designed and ready to progress

The right background

This role would suit someone who is:

A built‑environment graduate (Architecture, Architectural Technology, Construction, Planning or similar), or
Someone with 1–4 years’ experience in a design‑related role Relevant backgrounds include:

Assistant Design Coordinator
Junior / Assistant Design Manager
Architectural Technician / Technologist
Graduate Architect (Part I / II)
Design Technician with planning exposure
