Schedule:

Part-Time (2 days per week)  School Year About the Role Mater Dei Academy is seeking a compassionate, organized, and dedicated School Nurse to join our school community. This position is vital in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our students (Preschool–Grade
8) during the school day. As a key member of our staff, you will provide direct clinical care, manage health records, and serve as a resource for families and faculty on health-related matters.

Key Responsibilities Direct Care:
Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries and sudden illnesses.

Medication Management:
Administer prescribed medications and treatments to students in accordance with state law and school policy.

Health Screening:
Assist with required vision, hearing, and postural screenings.

Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate, confidential electronic health records (immunizations, physicals, and daily clinic logs).

Chronic Care:
Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions (e.g., allergies, asthma, diabetes).

Communication:
Act as a liaison between the school, parents, and healthcare providers regarding student health concerns.

Qualifications

Education:

Valid Ohio nursing license (Registered Nurse preferred; LPN considered).

Certification:
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.

Experience:

Previous experience in pediatrics, public health, or school nursing is a plus.

Skills:

Strong communication skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements:
Must pass a criminal background check (BCI/FBI) and complete the Diocese of Cleveland "VIRTUS" training. Why Mater Dei Academy?
