School Principals at both campuses

Mater Dei Academy and All Saints School are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time School Counselor to serve our K-8 student populations. This shared position requires a professional who can split time effectively between two neighboring Catholic school communities in Lake County. The Counselor will support the academic, personal/social, and spiritual development of students, acting as a resource for students, parents, and faculty.

The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing environment consistent with the Catholic mission of forming the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.

• Direct Student Services
  • Provide short-term, solution-focused counseling to students regarding social, emotional, and academic challenges (e.g., anxiety, peer conflict, family changes, grief).
  • Group Counseling:
    Facilitate small groups on topics such as social skills, anger management, study skills, and friendship building.
  • Crisis Intervention:
    Respond to student crises and provide immediate support and safety planning when necessary.
• Classroom & Core Curriculum Guidance Lessons:
  Deliver developmental classroom guidance lessons to K-8 students on topics such as conflict resolution, bullying prevention, virtue formation, and emotional regulation.
• Collaboration & Consultation
  • Teacher Support:
    Consult with faculty to identify student needs and develop strategies for classroom management and student success.
  • Parent Partnership:
    Serve as a resource for parents, offering guidance on child development and connecting families with outside community resources or clinical therapists when long-term support is needed.
  • Student Support Services:
    Participate in intervention team meetings (IAT/RTI) and assist in the development and support of students with ISPs (Individual Service Plans) or accommodation plans (e.g., Jon Peterson Scholarship recipients).
• Administrative & Mission
  • Maintain confidential student records in accordance with ethical standards and school policy.
  • Coordinate between both school sites to ensure a consistent schedule and seamless presence at each campus.
  • Uphold and model the teachings of the Catholic Church and the mission statements of both Mater Dei Academy and All Saints School.

• Education & Licensure
  • Required:
    
    Master’s Degree in School Counseling.
  • Required:
    
    Valid State of Ohio School Counselor License (Department of Education).
  • Preferred:
    Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic social teaching and moral formation.
• Experience & Skills
  • Experience working with school-aged children (K-8) in an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with special education processes (IEP/ISP/504) is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a schedule across two physical locations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Schedule:
    
    Part-time hours (e.g., 1-2 days per week), divided between the two campuses.
  • Travel:
    Reliable transportation is required to travel between Wickliffe and Eastlake as needed.
