Job Purpose and Impact

The Transportation Specialist will help evaluate distribution and transportation operations, data, and facilities to identify the most effective distribution and transportation patterns for products. In this role, you will conduct data management, reporting and analysis, shipping, client interaction, business partnership, and people, resource, budget and project management.

Key Accountabilities
  • Evaluate, select and foster continuous relationships with external transport providers.
  • Use limited knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry to make recommendations to establish good customer relations.
  • Analyze and project transportation costs and coordinate customs clearances and permits.
  • Provide distribution, transportation and logistical solutions for inbound or outbound movement of raw material and finished product from origin to destination.
  • Perform data entry updates in spreadsheets and databases based on sales orders and contracts and provide data to more senior team members for further analysis.
  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Coordinate the daily transportation of raw materials in the factory to ensure timely, safe and compliant transportation (including road transportation, shipping, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than 3 years of transportation operation experience, familiar with logistics related operations in the grain industry.
  • Familiar with the transportation characteristics and relevant regulations of the grain and oil industry.
  • Good communication and coordination skills and data analysis skills.
  • Proficient in office software and transportation management systems; experience in digital transformation of transportation is preferred.
  • Experience in transportation supplier management is preferred.
  • Basic English reading and writing skills, simple oral communication skills.
