Immediate Opening for an Experienced Concrete Finisher

Pay $22‑25/hr. based on experience.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Concrete Finisher who is capable of independently reading plans, forming, pouring, and finishing concrete on a variety of construction and paving projects. The successful candidate will join our team of professionals working on diverse tasks in a dynamic, safety‑focused environment.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Ensure a safe work environment by complying with all safety policies and procedures, as outlined in the Employee Handbook, and using appropriate tools and equipment for every task.
  • Strictly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environments.
  • Read and interpret project plans and specifications independently to perform concrete work with precision and accuracy.
  • Independently form, pour, and finish concrete to grade, delivering a fine finish on all types of concrete work.
  • Utilize equipment such as floats, trowels, screeds, templates, hand shovels, motorized tamps, push brooms, and straight edges (up to fifteen feet long) confidently and safely.
  • Perform physical motions including stretching, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, kneeling, throwing, walking, hammering, standing, reaching, and rubbing as required by the job.
  • Lift, carry, and hold materials, tools, and supplies, sometimes in excess of 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Follow directions from managers regarding daily tasks and project‑specific expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, transferring between tasks as project demands require.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience in reading plans, and independently forming, pouring, and finishing concrete for construction projects.
  • Previous related experience in the construction field is a plus.
Work Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must successfully pass a pre‑employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as prescribed by company policy.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work remote job sites, as required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations, including the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as Face Shield, Safety (hard‑toe) Shoes, and Safety Vest.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction and paving projects.
  • Ability to independently read plans and perform all duties associated with forming, pouring, and finishing concrete.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Strong understanding of verbal and written instructions, and the ability to communicate effectively in both formats.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools safely and efficiently.

Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
  • Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 25‑50 lbs as needed.
  • Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
