Phillips Southern Electric Co Inc is looking for a highly skilled Traveling Field Mechanic to maintain, repair, and service a fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles used across our civil construction projects. This role requires a hands‑on technician with strong diagnostic and repair abilities, who is ready to travel statewide to keep our machines running safely and efficiently.   • Perform maintenance and repair on a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, trenchers, boom trucks, digger derricks, bucket trucks, directional drills, dump trucks, semi‑trailers, and more.
  • Diagnose equipment issues using modern diagnostic tools and recommend effective repair solutions.
  • Ensure all machinery is operating safely and meets regulatory safety/emission standards.
  • Complete necessary paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Wear appropriate PPE on all job sites and while in the yard.
  • Travel statewide to support active project sites with onsite mechanical repairs.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety protocols at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on experience as a heavy equipment or field mechanic.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license required. CDL A Preferred
  • Must pass DOT physical to drive company vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools and automotive repair equipment.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
  • Comfortable with basic math, written documentation, and communicating effectively with team members.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.

Schedule

Full‑Time:
Monday–Friday

Some overtime may be required based on project or equipment needs

Location

Onsite and statewide travel throughout Oklahoma

Must be available to work at various project sites and job locations
