Overview
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
In support of the Energy Efficiency Works Watt Saver Demand Response thermostat program, full-time field install and service of communicating Demand Response thermostats in multifamily and single-family residences, and some small commercial sites. This position requires disciplined full compliance with all HSE, Quality, and training requirements; all in coordination with program management and in concert with all program field personnel.
Some in-state overnight travel required. We need HVAC Service Technician with 2 years of experience Even though-as the job description points out-we do not perform any HVAC Service, we need to understand the controls side of HVAC. Must be able to troubleshoot. Must have knowledge of 24 volt side
- Within Westar Energy service territory, performs field installations, Safe Work Procedures, and management instructions
- Performs field resolutions of customer service calls, as necessary
- Ensures correctly completed Work Order documentation, and reports near-real-time production data
- On a rotational basis with other installers, performs Primary/Alternate After-Hours On-Call duties IAW Field Manual, Safe Work Procedures, and management instructions
- Adopts safety, quality and productivity goals of program management;
Communicates thoroughly with management regarding safety, technical aspects and productivity - Participates in on-going training as necessary
- Supports orientation of new-hires, as needed
- Coordinates customer key/access control, when applicable
- Manages truck inventory of product and field supplies
- Ensures all proper maintenance of Company-assigned vehicle
- As condition of employment, must provide own industrial safety work shoes with at least 4" tops
- Other related duties as assigned
Extensive customer contact; resolving customer complaints and interacting on a daily basis.
Education/Experience Required- High School Diploma
- Minimum 2 years residential air conditioning service experience a must
- Low-voltage troubleshooting and heat pump experience a must
- Good driving record, outstanding communication and customer skills a must
- Must be able to use hand-tools; and, must be physically able to safely use Company-provided tools to effect controls installs and service
- Must have proven ability to work unsupervised, and be able daily to make good high-production and customer-focused decisions
- Licensed to perform HVAC work within the State of Kansas
- Understanding of HVAC systems, energy management
- Valid Driver’s License; clean driving record
- Proven outstanding communications, management, customer, and client relations skills
