Flight Test Inspector
Job Description
Perform in-process, pre/post flight, and final inspections of experimental aircraft to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, company restrictive special inspections, and preventive maintenance schedules. Address safety of flight concerns with meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities- Perform inspections of chemical cleaning, plating, paint, and other coatings to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies to verify compliance with engineering specifications and production work instructions.
- Monitor tools used for inspection to ensure they are currently certified.
- Document discrepancies and coordinate resolution with the Production, Methods, Engineering, and Material Review Board (MRB) as necessary.
- Ensure all inspection documentation and production work instructions are complete and comply with quality systems and engineering specifications.
- Assist other inspectors in their duties within their area of qualification.
- Conduct First Article Inspections per AS9102 and populate Net-Inspect accordingly.
- Assist with the creation of Bubble Drawings for First Article Inspections as required.
- Assist with creating Customer Nonconformance requests per contracted procedures.

- 3 years of inspection experience in an MRO or return-to-service environment
- Proficiency with precision measurement instruments such as calipers, blueprints, and micrometers
Skills & Qualifications
- Perform initial shakedown of experimental aircraft to ensure proper installation of components and systems.
- Verify in-flight and ground discrepancies have been resolved prior to flight release.
- Prepare and maintain records such as maintenance records, inspection records, aircraft logs, and flight test work orders.

Work EnvironmentWork in a non-climate controlled facility located in Wichita, KS. Be prepared for a dress code that includes pants/shorts and a shirt, but excludes tank tops and cut offs. Flexibility to work both 1st shift (Mon-Fri; 6:30am-3pm) and 2nd shift (Mon-Fri; 3pm-11:30pm) is required.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $47.00/hr.
