Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Travel Telemetry Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, specialized care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. The ideal candidate is adaptable, clinically proficient, and comfortable working in diverse hospital settings as part of a travel nursing team.
Responsibilities- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and vital signs for patients with acute or chronic conditions
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
- Administer medications, start IVs, and provide other nursing interventions as prescribed
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and telemetry readings
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and ongoing care needs
- Accurately document all care provided in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with facility protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations
- Active, unencumbered RN license in state of assignment (or compact license)
- Minimum of 1–2 years recent telemetry or step-down unit experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (additional certifications such as NIHSS preferred)
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Previous travel nursing experience a plus
- Strong ECG interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
- Excellent critical thinking and clinical judgment
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-acuity situations
- Proficiency with telemetry equipment and EMR systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, Meditech)
- Contract length:
Typically 13 weeks (may vary) - Shift: Variable (Days, Nights, 12-hour shifts, weekends, holidays as needed)
