Join the Way to Work (TWTW) Summer Youth Employment Program – A Life-Changing Opportunity!

For the past 15 years, the Way to Work (TWTW) Summer Youth Employment Program has been empowering youth just like you to reach their full potential. We provide an exciting chance for 14–17-year-olds to gain real-world work experience, develop essential life skills, and contribute to the community.

If you’re ready to be a part of something bigger, TWTW is seeking to hire 150 Temporary/Part-time Seasonal Youth Workers for our 8-10 weeks summer program. Here’s what makes this opportunity so special:

When applying, the application must be submitted with youth/participants information on the application. Employment cannot be processed with Parent or Guardian information.

• Serve as a role model while promoting the program's mission
• Promote the City of Wichita's mission and values
• Accept and respect each program participant as an individual
• Identify personal and professional goals and be a willing participant in the development process
• Maintain acceptable attendance practices for the entire duration of the summer program
• Additional job duties will be assigned once youth identify their specific placements in the community.

Required Physical & Interaction Requirements

• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Interact with other youth and staff in a pleasant and polite manner
• Perform basic tasks such as reading, writing, and follow instructions
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills

• Must live in Sedgwick County at the time of application and throughout the duration of the program.
• Must be 14 years of age by June 1st of 2026 and must still be 17 years by August 1st of 2026.
• Must attend the round up meeting on Friday, March 13th, 2026.

• Program begins on Tuesday May 26, 2026
• Youth Pre-Employment and Guardian or adult designee Meeting - Required
  • Friday, March 13, 2026, 8:30am - 11:30am or 1:00pm - 4:00pm
• Youth Training - Required
  • Tuesday, May 26, 2026 - Friday, May 29, 2026

• Youth may earn $9.52 per hour
• Youth are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week.
• Youth are paid bi-weekly
• Direct Deposit is available and encouraged
