Hope is Alive (HIA) is a faith based nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering life-changing recovery for individuals affected by addiction and their loved ones. Specializing in substance abuse recovery and addiction treatment, HIA operates structured sober living home mentorship programs that promote full rehabilitation. With environments designed to support emotional, mental, and behavioral growth, HIA empowers residents to develop leadership, financial, interpersonal, spiritual, and social skills.

The organization also offers Finding Hope support groups for friends and families, providing tools to cope with the challenges of addiction and its effects on their loved ones.

Role Description

This is a full-time role based in Wichita, KS, for a Community Development Coordinator. The individual in this role will develop and maintain relationships with community partners, organize events and initiatives to engage stakeholders, manage communications and outreach efforts, and identify opportunities for growth and funding. They will work to expand HIA’s presence while upholding the organization's mission to foster recovery and support for individuals and families impacted by addiction.

Qualifications
  • Strong communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage community stakeholders and build relationships.
  • Experience in event coordination, project management, and organizing community-based initiatives.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit operations, fundraising, and grant writing as an asset to securing resources and support.
  • Proficiency in digital communication, including social media management and email marketing.
  • Strong organizational abilities, multitasking skills, and attention to detail for managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Passion for community development and a strong commitment to the mission of addiction recovery and support.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role or nonprofit environment is an advantage.
