Furniture Builder

JOB SUMMARY

Manufacture standard production and customized aircraft furniture.

• Work from orders and blueprints to build and assemble small aircraft furniture per specifications. May work under guidance of higher grade furniture builder(s).
• Operates equipment such as table saw, band saw, platen press, hand and table router and sander with minimal assistance.
• Uses small and large power tools, sanders, rivet guns, drills, routers, saws, adhesive applicators, calipers, gauges and other measuring instruments.
• Use of precision measurement devices.
• Operates spray gun for adhesive spray according to company specifications
• Applies laminate and veneer to composite and other materials.
• Accurately record information required for data collection and material traceability with assistance
• Understand and respond to budget hours and schedule requirements with assistance
• Responsible only for own work.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level Work Keys certification, and Textron Aviation’s blueprint reading class preferred.

• 0-6 months of related experience in assembly and/or composite.

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes and liquids. Safety shoes and protective clothing could be required.
