Job Title:
Inspector – Fabrication/Assembly
Long term contract working
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Fabrication/Assembly Inspector (Level B1) to support aerospace airframe assembly operations. This role requires strong blueprint interpretation skills, hands‑on inspection experience, and the ability to work across multiple shifts in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret and utilize engineering drawings, inspection manuals, and specifications.
- Use shop mathematics, precision measuring instruments, and specialized inspection tools.
- Perform airframe assembly inspections and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Operate testing machines; calculate and record inspection results.
- Write and document Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs/Tags).
- Follow Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures.
- Accept or reject parts, processes, and assemblies per inspection procedures.
- Verify tool qualifications and maintain required certifications.
- Prepare and maintain quality records and documentation.
- Coordinate with internal departments and customer representatives as required.
- Cross‑train in Assembly, Composite, Metals, Process, and Systems/Payload Structures classifications.
- Work across equivalent or lower‑level Inspector job codes as needed.
- Plan and manage own sequence of operations.
- 5+ years of aerospace airframe assembly inspection experience.
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills (required).
- Experience with MS Office and SAP.
- Experience writing NCRs (Non‑Conformance Reports).
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Strong understanding of production processes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer proficiency.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Must be available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
- Must be open to heavy overtime as required.
- Ability to maintain certifications throughout assignment.
