A pre‑finish technician will prepare Pella Window and Door products for finishing with either a stain or paint. This includes disassembly, surface prep, masking, staining, painting, reassembly, and repackaging. Attention to detail and pace are required to maintain quality and production rates.
Responsibilities- Unpack product using a process that allows reuse of original packaging material.
- Disassemble, reassemble, and re‑pack window and door products without damage.
- Stain windows/doors to match the approved customer color.
- Move product from station to station throughout the production process to facilitate daily production goals.
- Sanding, cleaning, and masking products with high detail.
- Stage completed material on carts for return to the warehouse.
- Comply with established safety policies and guidelines.
- Complete other departmental responsibilities assigned by supervisor and team lead, including cleaning and stocking materials.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Adaptable to changing processes and priorities.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
- Routine heavy lifting up to 50 pounds using safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to stand for majority of shift.
- Ability to use power and hand tools, masking tape tool and hand sanding pads.
- Knowledge of general construction applications (window and door applications preferred).
- Drives safety in the environment, through the implementation of safe processes and develops a safety conscious work team.
There are no supervisory responsibilities at this time.

Physical DemandsEmployee must frequently push, pull and maneuver 8’ door panels, 36” wide sashes, 25 pounds from floor level many times a day without assistance; 150 pounds with assistance; heavy oversized glass; sit, stand, lift regularly.
