Position Summary

The role requires aircraft industry experience and knowledge of aerospace structural component manufacturing processes. You will lay out, fabricate, assemble, and repair jigs, fixtures, forms, templates, and related tooling used in manufacturing aircraft parts and assemblies, following blueprints, sketches, Catia data sets and specifications, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.

You will review engineering information, tool design drawings/models, and other specifications to determine methods and sequence of operations to fabricate tools. You will provide planning, direction, and coordination for all technical activities for tool design and manufacture while monitoring performance to estimates, budgets, and organization goals, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and repair precision tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Interpret blueprints and MBD models with required proficiency in GD&T.
  • Collaborate with engineers and team members to develop and manufacture tools.
  • Design tooling components using CAD software (CATIA V5).
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues by identifying and resolving problems independently or with other departments.
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery safely.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers) for quality control.
  • Prepare tool manufacturing plans, including sketches and detailed fabrication instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment to assemble tools completely.
  • Track job hours and status, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Participate in development of manufacturing, engineering, and quality process standards.
  • Assist in setting organization and department goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to department budget planning and control.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Identify and solve problems with root cause corrective actions (RCCA).
  • Maintain acceptable attendance as an essential function of the position.
  • Report to work on time, follow instructions, interact well with co‑workers, and understand and follow work rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as needed or as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in an Aerospace Manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T.
  • Strong understanding of customer requirements and industry specifications.
  • Ability to manage projects independently from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • Solid mathematical skills for precision measurement and fabrication.
  • Capability to prepare detailed fabrication and machining instructions for team members.
Physical and Environmental Demands

Manufacturing environment may expose workers to noise, dust, grime, and heat. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn.
