Position SummaryResponsible for the efficient operation and organization of the shipping department. Plans, organizes, and coordinates shipping activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
Responsibilities- Ensure all outgoing shipments meet quality and documentation standards.
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies and DOT regulations.
- Organize daily shipping schedules and prioritize urgent orders.
- Communicate effectively with customer service and production teams regarding shipping timelines.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Supervise and train shipping personnel on proper packaging, labeling, and handling procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels for shipping supplies and reorder as needed.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies and coordinate with carriers for timely delivery.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Give adequate direction, counsel employees on performance issues/concerns, and provide assistance or training where appropriate.
- Initiate disciplinary actions where necessary according to established procedures.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years in shipping or logistics, with supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety regulations (including OSHA compliance).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing production needs.
- Proficient in production management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants must be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws.
