Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment, performing preventative maintenance, ordering parts, completing work orders, and coordinating maintenance and repair of Balco’s facility. This role has a schedule of four 10‑hour days per week (Mon‑Thurs) with occasional overtime.
Responsibilities- Perform routine preventative maintenance and document activities in the maintenance log.
- Inspect and verify equipment is operating at manufacturing standards and required safety guards are operational.
- Offer solutions for equipment and/or unsafe conditions.
- Coordinate with other department leads when large projects are planned, understanding each department’s contribution and scheduling accordingly to avoid interruptions to everyday production.
- Participate in all necessary training functions for the position.
- Maintain general building maintenance.
- Regular and routine attendance is required.
- Other job duties may be performed as needed.
- Ability to safely and effectively use power tools and machinery including saws, drills, sanders, grinders, nail guns, paint guns, punch presses, shears, brakes, mills, and any other applicable machinery once operational competency has been documented.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing.
- Ability to complete work accurately and on time.
- Ability to work collaboratively with direct team members or across departments, and work independently as needed.
- Ability to properly utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Candidates who apply for positions requiring the use of a lift truck must obtain certification and safely operate a lift truck.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience performing maintenance in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Experience working with various departments.
- Experience in maintaining hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Works in a production facility and is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, utilizing the required PPE (e.g., eye/face protection, hearing protection, steel‑toe boots).

Located at our office in Wichita, Kansas. Employees must be present at the office and available to perform essential functions whenever scheduled.

- Successful background check and drug screening required upon offer.
- Must have finger dexterity.
- Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally.
- Must be able to safely lift 40 pounds.
