Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician
Overview
This role is at Spirit Aero Systems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
ResponsibilitiesPosition Responsibilities:
- To maintain, operate, repair, build and rebuild plant infrastructure and systems pertaining to it.
- To assist all other crafts/trades in the maintenance and construction of plant equipment within the Spirit Wichita facility.
- Assist in layout, construct, install, modify, repair, and maintain all commercial and industrial plumbing systems including heating water, drainage, air, steam, paint, water, and gas.
- Fabricate and repair all types of hoses including vacuum, chemical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, paint, gas (all types), and water.
- Ensure compliance with current specifications and regulations.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Must have 3-5 years plumbing experience.
- All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks. Majority of new hires will be hired on 2nd shift.
- All Candidates must pass the Work Keys Assessment () or provide verification that they have passed the Work Keys Assessment. Delay in completing your Work Keys Assessment will result in a delay in your start date. You may complete your assessment in advance of an interview.

Any person scheduling their Work Keys Assessment will be required to present two (2) forms of identification to be verified before their scheduled date for the Work Keys assessment. Please review the provided Acceptable Forms of plan ahead by deciding which documents can be located or ordered.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Plumbers license

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Pay: $25.09/hour, with potential to earn up to $43.13/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
