Job Title: Interior Installations Supervisor
Position Function: The Interior Installations Supervisor is directly responsible for all personnel and work in the department. Possess exceptional knowledge and skill in a particular field and has the ability to carry out assignments and perform work of excellent quality with a minimum of supervision. Manage the assigned unit as a team leader in a manner that gets employees input, is customer oriented, and cost effective.
Responsibilities- Supervise, set, and lead by example the work standard of the assigned unit, and personnel regarding quality, quantity, and customer satisfaction
- Purchase all materials and equipment for efficient unit operation, observing purchasing schedules and regulations
- Assist in the hiring and performance management of personnel
- Accept responsibility for assisting with training, skill development and supervision of team members
- Assure compliance with all applicable safety standards
- Review and assist employees with their goals in their Classified Employee Performance Appraisal
- Maintain required data for unit function and accountability
- Prepare, monitor, and update the unit’s long-range project plan
- Ability to prepare, submit, monitor the unit’s annual budget and operate within the approved budget
- Implement effective/efficient methods for completing jobs on schedule, utilizing materials, and job satisfaction for both employee and customer
A combination of office work, time in the field, and meetings with administration comprise the primary environment for this job
The position also requires after hours trips to buildings for a variety of concerns including equipment failure, meetings with building personnel, and response to emergency situations
Additional Duties- Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor(s) of BGMS.
The employee must demonstrate the ability to use various equipment assigned to the position as needed. This position may require the ability to use iPads in addition to basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Must always comply with USD 259’s guidelines for equipment use. Uses hand tools of the trade and related power equipment. Other tools that may be used include but are not limited to: binding machine, carpet dog, circular saw, genie lift, grinder, hammer drill, hand tools, ladders, scaffold, sewing machine, shade machine, spud bar, staple gun and tape measure.
TravelTravel between schools and central offices will be required.
Physical and Mental DemandsWork in standard office/shop setting and school building environments
Ability to work indoors in extreme heat and cold and outdoors in inclement weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, or snow
Ability to wear proper safety equipment as required while performing the various responsibilities required for this position
Ability to work in confined or high spaces; some strenuous physical work
Ability to work productively in stressful situations
Daily schedule may fluctuate to accommodate deadlines and delivery of services
Limited (0-1 hour):
Sitting, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, other), operating foot controls, crawling, lying down (back, side, front), and high impact vibratory tools (bucking/riveting)
Occasional (1-3 hours):
Overhead reaching, kneeling, crouching (squatting), fine finger manipulation, repetitive motion (multiple manipulation of same muscle group) and low impact vibratory tools (drilling/sanding)
Frequent (3-6 hours):
Below the waist reaching, waist to shoulder reaching, standing, walking, rotation of head/neck, flexion (head bend down and head bend back), bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, forceful gripping and keyboarding/mouse
Constant (6-8 hours):
Total reaching and handling/grasping
Exposure to:
Dust, odors, fumes, mists and chemicals (carpet adhesive, gypsum patch, glue, lubricants, spray paint, cleaning solutions)
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
