Spencer Fane has an immediate opening in our Wichita office for a Public Finance Associate with 1-3 years of transactional corporate experience
, and an interest in municipal finance, industrial development finance, and economic development transactions, including general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, temporary financing, lease financing, and other financing mechanisms to efficiently advance infrastructure, utilities, health care, education, or other governmental and commercial imperatives.

As an Associate you will work with an attorney team to represent governmental entities throughout Kansas while also assisting local manufacturers, hospitals, other health care facilities, and local and regional investment firms. You will also assist clients with respect to public-private partnerships such as tax increment finance (TIF), community improvement districts (CID), STAR bonds, reinvestment housing incentive districts (RHID), and industrial revenue bonds (IRB).

Candidates must be detail-oriented and should possess a solid work ethic. Excellent writing, communication, and legal research skills are required.

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record
• Admission to Kansas bar and in good standing
• Ability to interface directly with attorneys and clients
• Demonstrate an ability to work independently and productively
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving and organization skills
• Ability to effectively handle multiple projects
• Ability to develop and implement legal strategies
