Koch Ag & Energy Solutions is seeking a skilled Operations Technology Engineer who brings manufacturing technology experience, industrial cybersecurity skills, and a passion to find OT solutions that support the Koch Business. Within this role, you will partner closely with talented global IT/OT team members across KGS and the business IT teams to improve firewall security solutions and management processes.

The ideal candidate will be located in Wichita, Kansas or within close proximity to one of our Koch Fertilizer Plants.

The Operations Technology Engineer will be a key member of the KAES OT Solutions capability. This role requires strong critical thinking skills to help resolve complex technical issues for business users.

This person will also have an opportunity to continue building out our competency in proactive monitoring and application health as well as designing solutions for real business challenges.

What You Will Do
  • Maintain and support Operational Technology (OT) systems, including virtual machine infrastructure, user access management, and remote access enablement to ensure reliable and secure operations.
  • Perform comprehensive OT asset inventory, manage firmware updates, and conduct end-of-life assessments across site equipment to maintain system integrity and compliance.
  • Support and troubleshoot network connectivity within OT environments, including managing switch networks and enforcing secure segmentation and firewall rules to protect critical systems.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site documentation while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements, GxP standards, ISRM frameworks, and site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Actively participate in OT cybersecurity initiatives such as threat monitoring, remediation planning, and system hardening activities to enhance the security posture of OT environments.
  • Contribute to OT Business Continuity Planning and disaster recovery preparedness efforts to minimize operational risks and ensure rapid recovery from incidents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and enterprise peers to support the integration, deployment, and continuous improvement of OT systems and security controls.
  • Evaluate and implement best practices and emerging technologies to drive operational excellence and align OT capabilities with organizational cyber strategies.
  • Lead or assist in incident response activities related to OT systems, working to restore operations quickly and mitigate future risks.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to support onsite assessments, implementations, troubleshooting, and collaboration.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience working as a IT or OT technician (generalist)
  • Experience working with networking technology (TCP/IP, routing & switching, firewalls, and wireless communication technology)
  • Experience working with servers, virtualization platforms, Active Directory, DNS, and Domain Controllers
What Will Put You Ahead:
  • 5+ years of engineering-related support of OT environments, industrial control systems (DCS/PLC), or SCADA
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE-4, JNCIA or equivalent network certification
  • Familiarity with IEC-62443, NIST 800-53 and 800-82 or other industrial cybersecurity standards is a plus
  • Knowledge of the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture - Experience with IloT and edge computing Travel
