The RoleWe’re seeking a Management Accountant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you’ll take on a hands‑on role with strong coaching and day‑to‑day support. Your key focus will be WIP and job margin movement, delivering analysis, reporting, and helping keep month‑end on track.
What You’ll Do- Work in Progress (WIP) & job margins, analysing monthly movements and support accurate margin adjustments and close processes
- Month‑end support, contributing to reporting timelines and variance commentary support
- Prepare and post journals and support a clean general ledger
- Balance sheet / GL reconciliations, completing reconciliations, resolve reconciling items promptly, and keep presentation standards high
- Budgeting & forecasting support, assisting with annual budget and rolling forecasts, including gathering inputs from stakeholders
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g. Estimating, Drafting, Construction) as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement and help keep processes simple, accurate, and effective
- Demonstrated experience in a finance/accounting role (residential construction experience ideal, but not essential)
- Exposure to month end, accruals, balance sheet concepts, and ideally fixed asset register maintenance
- High attention to detail and pride in clean, accurate work
- Comfortable with “busy” tasks and deadlines, you’ll get it done
- Coachable, eager to learn, and enjoy working in a close‑knit team environment
