The Fraud Analyst is responsible for reviewing and resolving fraud alerts from the bank's monitoring systems, identifying false positives, and escalating complex cases. This position focuses on high-volume alert triage, basic fraud detection, and developing foundational investigative skills under the guidance of senior analysts.
Responsibilities & Expectations- Review and resolve fraud alerts from fraud detection systems efficiently and accurately, maintaining volume and turnaround time targets.
- Identify and clear verified false positives independently for lower-risk alert types.
- Conduct professional outbound customer contact for transaction verification and alert validation using appropriate questioning techniques.
- Follow investigative workflows and document all required steps accurately in the case management system.
- Escalate cases meeting investigation thresholds using documented criteria and procedures.
- Apply basic fraud detection rules, understand alert scoring logic, and follow standard operating procedures.
- Assist with data pulls and basic fraud reporting requests; track personal performance metrics.
- Maintain knowledge of core fraud types, common schemes, red flags, and basic regulations and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate professionally with customers, branch staff, BSA, Risk, and other internal partners.
- Stay current on fraud trends through training and available resources.
- Support the organization by participating and engaging in community support opportunities.
High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance/Accounting, Criminal Justice, or relevant work experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner.
- Computer skills, especially the ability to work in Windows-based systems.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude.
- Basic understanding of banking products, services, and fraud risks.
- Certified Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI), Certified AML and Fraud Professional (CAFP), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or similar is a plus.

Physical RequirementsThis position requires standing, walking, bending, and squatting on a regular basis. May require the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or reach with hands and arms. Work EnvironmentThis position regularly works in an office setting. Most of the job duties require the employee to be working with computers and electronic media on a regular basis.
