Position SummaryThe Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist supports the organization by implementing and maintaining programs that ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. This role works closely with operations, leadership, and employees to promote a strong safety culture, support regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Responsibilities- Assist in developing, implementing, and enforcing EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate safety records, logs, and documentation in accordance with OSHA and company requirements.
- Coordinate training programs such as new‑hire safety orientation, PPE use, hazard communication, emergency response, and other required safety training.
- Track safety metrics and prepare reports for internal leadership and corporate EHS.
- Manage PPE programs including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other equipment as applicable.
- Assist with environmental compliance activities including air permit requirements, waste management, stormwater, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct environmental inspections and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Support environmental reporting, recordkeeping, sampling, and permit renewals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 1–2 years of experience in EHS, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations.
