Valence Surface Technologies is a full-service surface finishing company specializing in the commercial aerospace, defense, space and satellite industries. With ten strategically located sites across the United States, Valence provides a start to finish solution from NDT and chemical processing, to paint and sub-assembly.

Position Summary

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist supports the organization by implementing and maintaining programs that ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. This role works closely with operations, leadership, and employees to promote a strong safety culture, support regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and enforcing EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, logs, and documentation in accordance with OSHA and company requirements.
  • Coordinate training programs such as new‑hire safety orientation, PPE use, hazard communication, emergency response, and other required safety training.
  • Track safety metrics and prepare reports for internal leadership and corporate EHS.
  • Manage PPE programs including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other equipment as applicable.
  • Assist with environmental compliance activities including air permit requirements, waste management, stormwater, and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Support environmental reporting, recordkeeping, sampling, and permit renewals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 1–2 years of experience in EHS, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations.
