Mechanical Engineer - Product Engineering Overview

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Product Engineer to support both new product development and the continuous improvement of existing mechanical designs. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys blending technical design, manufacturing collaboration, and product optimization.

In this position, you will contribute across the full product lifecycle - guiding concepts into manufacturable designs, supporting production readiness, and driving enhancements that elevate reliability, quality, and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, market-ready solutions aligned with performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.

Key Responsibilities

+ Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and mechanisms for new and existing products.

+ Apply sound engineering principles to improve performance, durability, and usability.

+ Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to meet schedule, cost, and quality objectives.

+ Create and maintain accurate 3D models, detailed drawings, and supporting technical documentation.

+ Participate in and lead design reviews with internal teams and external partners.

+ Support production teams by identifying root causes of manufacturing issues and implementing corrective actions.

+ Drive cost-reduction initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement projects across operations.

+ Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and support new product introduction (NPI) activities.

+ Assist with prototyping, functional testing, and validation of mechanical designs.

+ Coordinate limited field and application testing as needed to evaluate product performance.

+ Work closely with product management, quality, manufacturing, and customer support to resolve technical challenges.

+ Support warranty investigations and performance assessments for in-market products.

+ Partner with commercial and planning teams to confirm feasibility, customer requirements, and product cost targets.

+ Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high levels of organization and accountability.

+ Ensure all engineering documentation complies with applicable standards, codes, and internal procedures.

+ Uphold all safety, quality, and ethical standards in daily activities.

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

+ At least 2 years of experience in mechanical design, product engineering, or a related role.

+ Proficiency with 3D CAD tools and engineering documentation practices.

+ Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, molding, casting, and mechanical assembly.

+ Strong proficiency with standard office software, including spreadsheets and documentation tools.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

+

Experience with GD&T, simulation tools, or engineering analytical techniques.

+ Background in project-based or cross-functional engineering environments.

+ Familiarity with PLM, ERP, or other product lifecycle management systems.

+ Exposure to continuous improvement, lean methodologies, or process optimization.

+ Experience using modern mechanical CAD platforms.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift position involving both office-based engineering work and time spent in temperature-controlled manufacturing or laboratory areas. The role may require hands-on support with tools, equipment, or prototype builds. Physical activities may include standing or walking on the production floor, bending or reaching, lifting components, and wearing required personal protective equipment. Adherence to all safety and company policies is essential.

Why Join Us

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on products used across diverse industries.

You'll work with a supportive, highly collaborative team that values curiosity, craftsmanship, and continuous learning. If you're passionate about mechanical design, enjoy solving real-world engineering challenges, and want to grow your skills in an environment that invests in its people, we encourage you to apply. Your ideas, initiative, and technical expertise will help shape the next generation of innovative, reliable products.
