This role is at Spirit Aero Systems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Position Responsibilities:
* Manages experienced professionals (e.g., engineers, scientists, financial analysts) who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments
* Often heads one or more sections or a small department
* Interprets and administers policies, processes, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate work units
* Assignments are defined in terms of activities and objectives
* Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives
* Interacts with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels
* Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives
* Interaction typically concerns the resolution of operational and scheduling issues
* Frequent interactions with the customer
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at our Wichita, KS site.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited Program
* 5+ years' experience in an engineering or technical role
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* At least two years of management and/or technical leadership experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills working cross functionally across teams
* Analytical, demonstrated ability to deconstruct requirements and prioritize accordingly
* Strong leadership skills & the ability to motivate and hold people accountable
* Keen eye for details and a focus on continuous process improvement
* Exceptional time management skills

Summary Pay Range: $130,600 - $200,200

Join Spirit Aero Systems' Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years. for more information on the tax credit.
