Systems Engineer Job Description
Collaborate with customers, Sales, Program Management, and Systems Engineering teams to translate high-level operational needs into detailed platform and product requirements. Define and own the mission system architecture, including roadmaps, trade studies, Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), system requirements, and interfaces across the full program lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Develop functional requirements and interfaces for the mission management system, including integration of sensing, communication, and command & control systems.
- Guide architecture maturity through key design and integration milestones, including Critical Design Reviews (CDR) and Critical Integration Reviews (CIR).
- Perform solution trade studies and data-driven analyses to inform architecture decisions and product definition.
- Communicate architectures, interfaces, and configurations clearly across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Define Validation & Verification (V&V) strategies and activities from concept through execution, including associated documentation.
- Develop technical specifications and lead integration of supplier and vendor solutions.
- Support new business activities, including white papers, proposals, and customer engagements.
- Prepare and present data-based observations and recommendations to leadership.
- Contribute to the development and execution of Digital Engineering and Systems Engineering strategies.
- Apply Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles to enable scalability, interoperability, and future growth.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in mission management systems, command & control communications, sensor integration, and aircraft certification.
- Strong knowledge of complex systems development methodologies and practices, including ARP
4754 and ARP
4761. - Familiarity with NATO STANAG 4671 and STANAG 4586.
- Solid understanding of aircraft systems, system integration, and aerospace certification processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a holistic, system-level perspective.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor technical content to diverse audiences.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering.

Work onsite 100% of the time in Wichita with minimal travel.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
