Inspector, Part Conformance – Safeguarding Aviation Quality from the Ground Up

Pay Rate: $40.00 - 42.00

In this critical role, you will ensure that aircraft parts, assemblies, and finishes meet exact engineering and quality standards—directly contributing to flight safety, regulatory compliance, and overall product integrity.

What You’ll Do Day to DayAs an Inspector, Part Conformance, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing inspections of chemical cleaning, plating, paint, coatings, and part markings to ensure compliance with engineering specifications
- Conducting in-process and final inspections of parts, subassemblies, and assemblies per production work instructions
- Inspecting parts, castings, and forgings using precision measurement instruments to verify close-tolerance requirements
- Monitoring and maintaining certification status of all inspection tools and equipment
- Documenting discrepancies and coordinating resolution with Production, Engineering, Methods, and the Material Review Board (MRB)
- Ensuring inspection documentation and work instructions are complete, accurate, and compliant with quality systems
- Conducting First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 and populating Net-Inspect records
- Assisting with bubble drawing creation for FAIs and supporting Customer Nonconformance requests
Developing working knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) or articulating arms and obtaining certification - Supporting and assisting other inspectors within assigned areas of qualification
- Typically 2+ years of experience inspecting manufactured aircraft parts
- Working knowledge of aircraft part fabrication processes and manufacturing tooling
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance calculations
- Experience using and interpreting precision measurement instruments and special tooling
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across departments
- Ability to read and write in English
- AS9102 First Article Inspection experience
- Working experience with an MRB system
- Working knowledge of Model-Based Definition (MBD) engineering
- Exposure to CMM or articulating arm inspection systems

Pay Details: $40.00 to $41.00 per hour
