Defense - Operations Support Specialist

Overview

This role is at Spirit Aero Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit’s Defense Business Unit (“Spirit Defense”). Spirit Defense is a independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace. Location:
Wichita, KS (On‑site)

• Provides assistance in manufacturing and production processes
• Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required
• Develops quality and cost‑effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles
• Participates in technical research on proposed projects
• Offers guidance to manufacturing staff

• 2-5+ years of related experience
• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
• Successful candidates must be able to secure Program Access approval
• High School Diploma or GED

• Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree or Trade School certificate
• Understanding of fabrication and/or assembly build processes and sequencing
• Experience in Continuous improvement and Manufacturing Support
• FSDA implementation
• 3DX capability
• Familiarity with drilling and welding hard metals
• Familiarity with composite processes and materials
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team‑based environment
• Self‑motivated; taking ownership of projects and issues, including follow through to closure
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
• Project Management experience
• Experience with MS Office Suite
• Experience with SAP

This is a union‑represented position.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $59,450 - $91,150

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
