Tooling Engineer –
Verus Aerospace (Wichita, KS)
Salary: $59,800–$91,650
Position SummaryDesign, fabricate, assembleုပះ, and repair aerospace Olympus using high‑precision tools. Oversight of tooling design, manufacturing, budget, and compliance to company standards while collaborating with engineering and quality teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Design, fabricate, and assemble jigs, fixtures, templates and related tooling to specification.
- Use hand toolsാങ, power tools, CNC machines, and other equipment to produce tooling that meets blueprints, sketches, Catia data, and specifications.
- Plan and coordinate all technical activities for tool design and manufacture, monitoring performance against estimates, budgets, and organizational goals.
- Participate in developing manufacturing, engineering, and quality process standards.
- Administer personnel functions, including recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations, and job description approvals.
- Control department and project budgets and guide budget request preparations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Provide technical cost‑reduction solutions and root‑cause corrective actions.
- Work with customer design engineering to determine manufacturability of parts while meeting quality and cost requirements.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing process problems; develop and implement improved process machinery, tooling, and procedures. 国际彩票Set up and operate machines to cut, shape, and finish materials to specified dimensions (optional).
- Fit, align, and assemble tooling components, measuring for conformance with precision instruments.
- Join assemblies using bolts, pins, clamps, screws, or rivets; repair or rework tools as needed.
- Create sketches and prepare detailed fabrication/machining instructions for other workers.
- Willingness to work overtime and maintain reliable attendance are essential functions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
A four‑year engineering degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of industry experience (8 years for senior roles). Strong knowledge of aerospace structural component manufacturing processes and advanced tooling skills are required.
