Overview

Sr. Wastewater Project Manager  is an employee-owned company focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and making a positive impact on communities.

HDR is currently in need of a Senior Wastewater Project Manager (PM) to work as a member of our Water Business Group in Kansas City or St. Louis, Missouri. This position will be responsible for supporting the growth and development of the Wastewater Market Sector in Missouri and Kansas, including projects such as treatment facilities, pipelines and pump stations, alternative delivery methods, and master planning.

Primary responsibilities include advancing business development strategies, pursuing new clients and projects, client and project management for key projects, providing technical input, and staff development. The PM will collaborate with other Business Class and Marketing staff on pursuits, lead key pursuits, serve as client manager for key clients, provide leadership on client issues, coordinate multiple projects, and oversee development and direction of key staff.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in growth and development of the Wastewater Market Sector in Missouri and Kansas, including projects such as treatment facilities, pipelines and pump stations, alternative delivery methods, and master planning.
  • Advance business development strategies and pursue new clients and new projects.
  • Provide client and project management for key projects and staff development.
  • Contribute technical input on projects and collaborate with other staff to pursue new projects.
  • Take a leadership role in key pursuits and serve as client manager for key clients, addressing client issues and coordinating multiple projects.
  • Oversee development and direction of key staff and assist in building capabilities of the Business Class team.
Qualifications
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Experience in alternative project delivery methods
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • 10+ years in the design of complex municipal wastewater systems
  • Strong technical background in wastewater treatment unit processes
  • Proven project leadership experience with staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and mentoring
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong business development and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent team player with ability to function in various roles on integrated project teams
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 10 years related experience
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access a plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills
  • Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture
