JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high‑performing team focused on cutting‑edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you’ll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Role

Summary

The M/E Engineer III will complete increasingly complex mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. Responsibilities include collecting and assembling data, developing estimates and generating systems and bid analysis to support the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Responsibilities
  • Autonomy & Decision-Making:
    Makes decisions on routine matters, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor.
  • Completes mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
  • Develops budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating system.
  • Assists in the review of mechanical and electrical options as part of the preconstruction process and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  • Coordinates the mechanical and electrical scopes of work during the bid process.
  • Provides sequencing requirements of various systems and solutions to meet schedule requirements.
  • Reviews design documents and identifies potential quality problems; helps develop quality control programs.
  • Performs job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met with quality and timely delivery.
  • Assists with shop drawing submittal process to comply with contract documents.
  • Supports commissioning process including development of pre‑functional checklists, functional testing procedures and actual functional testing.
  • Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.
  • Provides mentoring to less experienced co‑workers.
  • Creates M/E tools and innovative solutions to continuously improve processes and work products.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Accurate, complete, and timely work performance.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in basic JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software.
  • Knowledge of means and methods of construction management.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field (required).
  • Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
  • 5+ years construction and/or engineering experience (preferred).
Working Environment
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
