A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job DutiesHigh School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.
Required ExperienceThis is specific to each position and department. See additional requirements and preferences.
Additional Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrolled as a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student at Wichita State University.
- Has a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better.
- Trained in or has experience with the techniques and goals of mentoring relationships.
- Good communication skills and ability to establish positive relationships.
- A demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of first-generation, limited-income, and students of disability status.
- A strong commitment to the project’s mission of serving disadvantaged students.
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
