Job Description

Teaching is onsite (in clinical settings) with our clinical partners.

Schedule:

most commonly 12-hour rotations (7 a.m.

- 7 p.m.) for three to four consecutive days.


Capstone Final Clinical Overview:

This course facilitates students' transition into professional nursing through exploration of trends, issues, and experiential nursing practices. It emphasizes refining skills in delivering and managing nursing care within legal, ethical, and evidence-based frameworks.

In this role, the clinical instructor:

  • Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
  • Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
  • Plans clinical experiences and supervises nursing students providing care to individuals or groups.
  • Evaluates student performance and provides documented feedback based on course objectives.
  • Provides remediation for students as needed.
  • Orients and maintains current knowledge of agency/clinical policies with clinical personnel.
  • Develops and posts written clinical assignments aligned with students' knowledge and skills.
  • Grades assignments and clinical paperwork promptly.
  • May teach didactic content under supervision.
  • Keeps course coordinator informed of student and agency issues.
  • Reports to the dean or assistant dean; course coordinator provides oversight.

Qualifications

We encourage candidates with:

  • A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
  • An unencumbered professional nursing license in Kansas.
  • IL nursing license required before accepting clinical sessions.
  • At least two years of recent professional nursing instruction or precepting experience.
  • Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
  • Exceptional subject matter expertise and excellent communication skills.
  • Desire to serve students and colleagues with respect and care.
  • A sense of responsibility and purpose to enrich the community.

Additional Information

Position:
Chamberlain Visiting Professor - Campus

Pay range: $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on credit hours.

Pay may vary based on course, experience, location, licensure, market factors, and responsibilities. Our Talent Team is available for questions and salary discussions.
