Physicians in the U.S. Air Force use their expertise in a variety of ways. From planning and administering medical services to a range of patients to creating policies and programs to help bolster the Air Force’s healthcare system, physicians care deeply about fellow Airmen and their families.
Primary Responsibilities- Help develop and direct medical policies, programs and services
- Plan and prepare for medical operations
- Determine the personnel, equipment, training and facilities required to establish and sustain medical programs or operations
- Oversee medical operations and lead medical personnel
- Interpret test results and evaluate examination findings
- Perform, supervise and direct the delivery of clinical services in inpatient and outpatient settings
- 30 days of vacation with pay each year

This is a position as an Officer in the Air National Guard. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- Completion of Bachelor’s degree with a secured placement in medical school or medical degree with a secured placement in a residency program or have a Board Certification
- Completion of Officer Training School (OTS), Air Force Academy (AFA) or Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC)
- Must be at least 17, but have not reached age 42 on the date of joining
