Production Assistant-Sports & News Videographer​/Editor; Temp Position

Overview

KSN is looking for a part-time, temporary Production Assistant - Sports & News Videographer/Editor to assist with sports and news coverage. The position requires field work shooting news, weather and sports content and newsroom editing to prepare for broadcast or digital publishing. The role includes shooting highlights of local sports coverage, including high school football. The position is in-person at KSNW, Wichita, Kansas, using station equipment, under the supervision of the news team and management.

Temporary position for fall of 2025.

• Shoot video in the field, including interviews
• Gather and organize raw and edited video into files according to scripts or instructions for newscasts and other programming
• Review all video for accuracy and adherence to station standards
• Shoot highlights of local sporting events, as assigned
• Edit video for broadcast and digital platforms
• Assist in newsroom duties during shift, as assigned

• Basic editing and videography skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• High school diploma required, Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Fluency in English, bilingual in Spanish a plus
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility to work any shift

Operate newsroom computer systems, editing and camera equipment.

High-stress environment with deadline pressures. Travel within the local market will be required on a regular basis. Position requires transporting equipment weighing up to 60 lbs. Position often requires work in extreme outdoor temperatures. A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
