Production Assistant-Sports & News Videographer​/Editor; Temp Position

Overview

KSN is looking for a part‑time, temporary position to assist with sports and news coverage at KSNW in Wichita, Kansas. The role requires field work, shooting news, weather and sports content, and newsroom duties such as video editing for broadcast or digital publishing. The position is in‑person, uses station equipment, and is supervised by the news team and management. It is a fall 2025 temporary role.

• Shoot video in the field, including interviews.
• Gather and organize raw and edited video files according to scripts or newscast instructions.
• Review all video for accuracy and adherence to station standards.
• Shoot highlights of local sporting events, as assigned.
• Edit video for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Assist in newsroom duties during shift, as assigned.

• Basic editing and videography skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• High school diploma required;
  Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Fluency in English; bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work any shift.

Operate newsroom computer systems, editing and camera equipment.

Provide resume and digital reel when applying.

High‑stress environment with deadline pressures. Travel within the local market is required on a regular basis. Position requires transporting equipment weighing up to 60 lb. Often requires work in extreme outdoor temperatures. A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
